Best Travel Affiliate Programs for Creators in 2026
An honest map of what travel creators can join, what they actually pay, and where the model is going.
The quick comparison
| Program | Commission | Cookie window | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Viator | 8% | 30 days | Tours & activities |
| GetYourGuide | 8% | 31 days | Tours & activities |
| Booking.com | 3-4% | Session only | Hotels |
| Expedia (TAAP) | 2-6% | 7 days | Flights & hotels |
| TravelPayouts | 1.1-9% | 30 days | Aggregator |
| Airbnb | Closed to new | n/a | Stays |
| KLNK | Creator commission per booking | Attributed | Tours (performance) |
Viator and GetYourGuide
The two big tour marketplaces run near-identical programs: around 8% commission on bookings, 30-day cookies, monthly payouts. Fine for volume, but you are recommending the same operators every other creator on the app is pushing, and the operator loses 25 to 30% of the booking value to the OTA before your slice is calculated.
Booking.com and Expedia
High traffic, low commission, short cookies. Booking.com only pays on completed stays and the window is often session-based. Great for high-intent SEO pages, poor for Instagram-style referrals.
TravelPayouts and aggregators
Useful if you want one dashboard across flights, hotels, insurance, and eSIMs. The trade-off is average commission is lower than joining individual programs, and payouts take a while to reach threshold.
Airbnb
The Airbnb affiliate program has been closed to new creators for years. Ignore anyone selling a course promising access. It is not open.
The performance model (why it changes the maths)
Traditional affiliate programs pay you a share of what the OTA already took. The operator loses more than you earn. Performance tour platforms like KLNK flip that: operators pay a creator commission directly, because they save on OTA fees when the booking comes from you. The result is materially higher commission per booking for creators, and better economics for operators. Everyone wins except the OTA.
How to combine them
Most travel creators mix three layers:
- KLNK for tours and activities you have actually done, where trust converts.
- Booking.com or aggregator for hotel and flight searches, especially on blog posts.
- Direct brand deals once you cross ~10K engaged followers.
Start with the layer that pays best per follower today. For most travel creators in 2026, that is performance tour bookings.
