The English Market is the best food hall in the country and open Monday to Saturday. Lunch upstairs at the Farmgate.
Blarney Castle is 20 minutes out on a regular city bus, so you do not need a tour to get there.
Kinsale, Cobh and the Old Head are all inside an hour and make the best day out from the city.
Trains from Dublin take about two and a half hours to Kent Station, a short walk from the centre.
