Trains from London Paddington take 1 hour 25 and Bristol is 15 minutes away.
The Royal Crescent, the Circus and the Assembly Rooms are a 15-minute loop uphill from the abbey.
Bath has a clean air zone and very limited parking. Use park and ride or come by train.
The Cotswolds start 30 minutes north. Castle Combe and Lacock are both easy half days.
Roman Baths tickets are cheaper booked online in advance and include the audio guide.
